How Curriculum
Vitae is different from Resume
Well, this
question bothers many, and mostly these two terms are used synonymously.
However, there is a difference between the two. On one hand, where your Curriculum
Vitae records all your educational qualifications, job experiences, and
skills, on the other hand, a resume is a more targeted record of your
experiences and educational background based on the kind of job for which it is
being made. For example, a candidate applying for HR Consultant position should
include the skills and experiences in other organizations that are relevant
enough to support his/her application as an HR Consultant.
Curriculum Vitae
can include summary of academic backgrounds along with research experience,
teaching experience, presentations, honors, awards, publications, affiliations,
and many other details. Which increases the length of the CV as the level of
experience also rises. If any job advertisement asks you to submit your CV,
then this hints that the recruiter is expecting to know every little detail
about the candidate starting from life experience, to education, achievements,
presentations, papers published, positions held, and many other details.
